- Closely collaborate with CHAI program leadership to develop program strategy and operational plan for execution for scaling the program in other states (Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Assam, etc.)- Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key government partners (national and state level), developmental partners, and other relevant stakeholders to expand access to quality cancer care- Spearhead programmatic activities in areas of capacity building, demand generation, and operational roll-out of program- Support in design and implementation of processes, systems for collection, collation, and synthesis of program data to inform program strategy, operations, and reviews- Support Program Manager in donor and grant management and managing the operations and finances of the program to meet deliverables within the appropriate timeframes- Aid and support other aspects of the cancer program by working closely with the CHAI state, country, and global teams- Should be willing to travel on short notice across India- Perform other responsibilities as requested by program leadership
The Global Markets Manager for Diagnostics will lead market shaping and market dynamics activities, focusing on diseases such as HIV, TB, hepatitis C, and cervical cancer. Their primary objective will be to build, maintain, and update CHAI’s global supply-and demand-side strategy, participate in negotiations, and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to design and implement strategies to ensure sufficient supply of affordable and high-quality commodities to low- and middle-income markets. In doing so, the Manager will develop strong relationships with global and country teams within CHAI, as well as with diagnostics suppliers and key opinion leaders. We are seeking a highly-motivated, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem-solving ability and communication skills. The Manager must be able to manage direct reports, function independently, and have a strong commitment to excellence. Responsibilities:- Manage diagnostics supply-side strategy and develop expertise in a range of areas (including product development and commercialization strategies, financial and market analyses, production costing, and relationship management)- Develop a detailed understanding of the diagnostics market, including demand- and supply-side market dynamics, product development pipelines, regulatory requirements, and barriers to access in low- and middle-income countries- Manage negotiations with suppliers and buyers to expedite time-to-market, reduce pricing, improve supply security, and catalyze innovation for new and existing products- Manage the development of databases, analyses, and frameworks to assess new product opportunities and to support negotiations- Identify innovative, action-oriented solutions to supply-side diagnostics challenges- Work with internal and external partners to envision and execute access strategies for priority products- Lead relationships with senior-level stakeholders at procurement agencies, manufacturers, and NGOs- Manage the development of clear communication materials based upon analyses- Present findings of analyses to a broad range of internal and external audiences in meetings and conferences
The AD will have overall responsibilities for all programs in the UHC & SRMNH cluster, with specific responsibilities that include: People Management- Manage a team of highly motivated, and high-performing individuals with diverse work and educational backgrounds and work with HR to lead and support talent management initiatives, succession planning and provision of continuous feedback and capacity building to staff;- Provide support to HR and assist in the process of hiring, promotion, and teambuilding to ensure effective team staffing, administration and performance in a multicultural environment.Program Management- Oversee and coordinate activities across multiple work streams, managing communication with CHAI global support teams, and ensuring monitoring, evaluation and reporting requirements to program donors are met;- Promote effective communication within the UHC & SRMNH cluster in order to ensure well-coordinated work streams and external communications to partners;- Support program managers in the cluster in their strategic planning, budgeting, and problem-solving and oversee project performance against work plans and budget;- Support program implementation and execution of data-driven interventions and guide evidence-based decision-making regarding policies, guidelines, and program operations;- Provide technical guidance and oversee quality of deliverables and ensure that communications and work products that are shared externally meet CHAI standards;- Ensure effective documentation and knowledge management within the programs.Technical Assistance and Relationship Management- Maintain expertise in the technical areas included in the cluster in order to provide effective technical guidance to program teams and the Malawi government;- Provide in-depth and high-quality technical assistance to government, including driving strategic discussions and decisions, and making technical contributions to national policies, strategies, plans, guidelines and programs;- Develop and manage key relationships with senior government and nongovernmental stakeholders;- Represent the CHAI Malawi office at local and international meetings, as designated by the Country Director.Resource Mobilization, New Initiatives and Grant Management- Provide strategic direction and coordination for resource mobilization efforts across the CHAI Malawi office, as well as for scoping of new initiatives;- Provide support in identifying strategic areas for expansion or redirection of office priorities and guide strategic planning or proposal development as needed;- Develop proposals and concept notes for new initiatives of relevance to the UHC & SRMNH cluster;- Work closely with the Finance Manager in grant management, including in development and implementation of tools and processes to support work planning, budgeting, execution, and monitoring and reporting of programmatic progress;- Provide direct support to Program Managers in the UHC & SRMNH cluster in grant management and tracking of programmatic budgets and expenditure.Office Management- Participate in Senior Management Team meetings and functions and provide strategic guidance and support on issues that affect the CHAI Malawi office;- Provide support in hosting global visitors and facilitate effective use of their time by ensuring that there are clear TORs of the visit with deliverables;- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Country Director.
- Provide HIV and TB expertise and experience to the teams to ensure that the project activities are aligned to needs, in keeping with optimal clinical and management practices, and operational feasibility within the Zimbabwean health system;- Develop and maintain up-to-date expertise in the field of HIV, TB and Cervical Cancer testing, treatment and monitoring, follow trends and best practices at the global level and advise the MoHCC on new ehealth/mhealth technologies, tests, products, product uptake ,procurement and supply chain that impact diagnosis care and treatment;- Provide technical input on various HIV, TB and Cervical Cancer policies and reforms;- Develop and disseminate technical guidelines and SOPs where appropriate;- Develop proposals to build capacity of MoHCC and increase sustainability of the aforementioned activities, including budgeting and proposal writing;- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in government, international partners, donors and NGOs, to ensure coordination of resources to facilitate consensus on process, policy and implementation of programs;- Work with various MoHCC departments, the CHAI country and global teams to adapt and/or develop elaborate strategic and implementation plans to strengthen diagnostics and treatment services;- Actively participate and drive innovation during Ministry of Health HIV, TB and Cervical Cancer technical working groups (TWG) and sub working groups meetings within the MoHCC;- Provide technical support for effective and sustainable training programs, quality assurance and data management to support accelerated roll-out for new diagnostic technologies and treatment options;- Provide technical expertise to the design, set up, and implementation of EQA program for diagnostic tests and monitor program performance and participation;- Provide technical support and manage roll-out of expedited reporting systems for laboratory test results for centralized testing (TB, EID, CD4, VL, etc);- Work with MoHCC and other partners to advance plans for a supply chain management system for commodities, including development of supply chain tools to support accelerated product roll-out for new diagnostics and treatments for HIV, TB and Cervical Cancer;- Drive operational and policy changes to maximize impact of diagnostic testing including testing algorithms, clinic workflow, strategic deployment guidelines for selected POC diagnostic technologies and efficiency of treatment service delivery models;- Support MoHCC in development and implementation of national plans for key interventions including strategic and operational planning and funding mechanisms for treatment optimization, sample and results transportation, and technology selection decisions, diagnostic and treatment algorithms;- Work with MoHCC and partners to roll-out the bundled reagent and service and maintenance model for essential HIV and TB testing equipment/reagents, and develop/implement framework to monitor service provider compliance/ downtimes;- Assist in operationalization of other trainings, review meetings, summits, and other activities by planning and budgeting, organizing logistics, liaising with MoHCC stakeholders, and working with the operations team to make any necessary arrangements;- Provide technical advice to MoHCC on health systems strengthening related issues (e.g., sample transport, technology selection and optimized treatments);- Support resource mobilization efforts and proposal writing on behalf of CHAI and the MoHCC;- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to measure the impact of key HIV, TB and Cervical Cancer interventions implemented by CHAI;- Support CHAI senior management as a strategic partner for all CHAI related new initiatives across the different work streams and programs;- Develop program budgets and cash forecasts, and ensure activities are executed according to work plan and approved budgets; and- Compile progress reports and deliver presentations related to program activities- Conduct other activities as required.
