African Health Diagnostics Project (AHDP) - Conduct stakeholder engagements required to establish a possible public-private partnership agreement in the diagnostics landscape in Malawi.- Support defining and refining of potential project options and conduct prefeasibility analysis of each option.- Play a leading role in conducting in depth feasibility study for selected project option(s).- Recommend options for PPPs that deliver on the country’s diagnostic goals but are also affordable, and viable as business propositions for private sector providers and align to the health financing vision of the Health Sector Strategic Plan III.- Align the scope of the proposed PPP (including the types of diagnostics services at each level of care) with the integrated Health Service Packages.- Project the expected CapEx and OpEx costs for diagnostics services in the PPP and analyze sustainable long-term financing options for these services in alignment for the Health Sector Strategic Plan III’s vision.- Lead presentations and discussions with relevant government departments and stakeholders (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Public Private Partnership Commission, etc.) as well as with donors.- Support the design of a tendering process and workflow for private investor which maximizes the chance of receiving competitive bids and selecting a competent provider.- Facilitate and advise on negotiations and engagement with private sector bidders, on behalf of governments to ensure value for money is achieved from the PPPs.Cross-cutting Analytical Support to Infectious Diseases cluster- Conduct, in collaboration with other team members, real-time analysis of infectious diseases/epidemics intelligence data, from a broad range of sources including non-health sectors, for infectious diseases/epidemic forecasting and detection.- Analyse, systematize, and disseminate scientific and evidence-based technical information and knowledge.- Support the development of research protocols, Situation Reports, management of real time dashboards, other related regular and ad-hoc surveillance reports.- Develop and implement data collection systems, data analyses using statistical techniques, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases to bring visibility and support decision making.- Understand the programs requirements to identify problems to solve and restrict the slice of data to be explored.- Perform statistical analysis and experiments to derive programme insights and report on measurable impacts of programs being implemented.- Develop detailed and clear tools based on the indicators for gathering data from various sources.- Perform cleaning, processing, and validation on the data subjects to analyse, to ensure its quality and visibility.- Clearly communicate the findings from the analysis to turn information into something actionable through reports, dashboards, and/or presentations.- Provide input to communications and information products (situation reports, Health Cluster bulletins, policy briefs, etc.) as required.- Strengthen the capacities of national and sub-national M&E teams for the effective and sustained monitoring of epidemics/infectious diseases through training courses.- Perform any other incident-specific related duties as required by the functional supervisor.

Working in close collaboration with the CHAI HIV team, the Senior Associate will:- Be the focal point person for CHAI’s role in the introduction of the CAB LA pilot.- Serve as a trusted advisor to CHAI, MoH, CAB LA expert group and other stakeholders on a range of CAB LA implementation, enabling mobilization of more resources and ensure effective implementation.- Work with MoH, CAB LA Expert group and other stakeholders to develop objective 4 A and B data monitoring and reporting tools.- Develop systematic tools and methodology for learning adaptation in the path to scale.- Support design of M&E tools necessary to improve the use of data for decision making. This work may include the development of indicators and methodologies to track progress of CAB LA program implementation.- Strengthen the capacity of program management and coordination of efforts for effective implementation and of an optimized HIV prevention program by working with Ministry of Health and partners.- Assisting the MoH in routine monitoring, review, and utilization of data for programmatic decision making.- Take lead in costing of CAB LA commodities and supply chain plans using carefully assessed assumptions and fine-tuned models.- Share global market intelligence with key supply chain decision-makers to help inform a sustainable supply of HIV prevention products.- Support ID cluster team to provide quantitative updates on grant performance and progress to the donor as requested.- Any other duties as assigned.

- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of each CSO’s current organization structure, resources, and capacity for sustainability planning.- Organize workshops to educate the target CSOs on the concept of sustainability planning and its importance in achieving long-term impact.- Provide training on sustainable resource mobilization, fundraising strategies, and partnership development (including facilitating connections between CSOs and potential partners such as businesses, government agencies, and other non-profits.- Support CSOs in developing tailored sustainability plans, outlining strategies for generating resources, securing diversified funding sources, maintaining community engagement beyond the project’s duration, and ensuring the continuation of immunization support initiatives beyond the project’s duration.- Ensure communication and alignment of activities across government and partner stakeholders and across other CHAI programs to ensure coordination and successful execution.- Work with CHAI's technical teams and Program Manager(s) to develop and implement a coordinated program of support.- Support capacity building of key government functionaries on relevant competencies for sustained ownership and delivery.- Prepares technical notes and submits for review.- Prepare, review and initial sign off participants statement of payments and follow up on timely payment of participants.- Prepares and submits expense and activity reports within three days of completion of field activity.- Perform other responsibilities as requested by program leadership.

- Contributing to the development and implementation of a national malaria drug resistance strategy:- Conduct a baseline assessment of the status of resistance and its drivers, drawing on existing data and collaborating with partners.- Develop a draft strategy with interventions to strengthen surveillance, optimize antimalarial use, and deploy new tools in priority areas.- Define potential ACT diversification scenarios, including MFT strategies, considering feasibility and resource needs.- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine the strategy and advocate for its adoption.- Providing technical assistance to NMCP:- Support the development and dissemination of training materials, checklists, and guidelines for health workers and community health agents.- Participate in integrated case management supervision efforts and data analysis.- Coordinate community health/case management components of the national malaria strategic plan.- Building partnerships and collaboration:- Engage with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, research institutions, and community health organizations.- Facilitate collaboration between CHAI teams, NMCP, and other strategic partners to ensure alignment and achieve program goals.Additional Responsibilities:- Work alongside NMCP and other key MoH partners to support relevant workflows on community health, malaria case management, and supply chain management.- Serve as a focal point with case management, supply chain, and community health stakeholders in the country, ranging from government, academia, civil society, and the private sector (i.e. a long-term physical presence in the country to provide uninterrupted support).- Support advocacy efforts for case management, supply chain, and community health strategy, program design, and implementation in line with evidence-based best practice.- Strengthen and extend programmatic reporting and activity monitoring tools and processes at central and operational levels; develop the capacity of government staff to monitor activities regularly.- Support NMCP in the collection, analysis, and visualization of case and inventory management data.
