CHAI’s global malaria program provides direct technical and operational support to countries around the globe to strengthen their malaria programs and reduce the burden of this preventable, treatable disease. We support governments to scale up effective interventions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance, with the goals of sustainably reducing the number of malaria-related illnesses and deaths worldwide in the short-term and accelerating progress towards malaria elimination in the long term.
CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Regional Malaria Finance and Planning Associate to help governments in Southeast Asia mobilize additional financing and effectively spend available resources to achieve malaria elimination oriented strategic objectives. Additionally, this role will support planning processes at national and sub-national level to ensure adequate resource allocation, expenditure, and tracking to improve efficiency and effectiveness of government programs. Countries supported by this role include Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, and frequent travel is expected between these countries.
The Associate will bring outstanding analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills and must be able to work independently and have deep personal commitment to producing results. No background in finance or malaria is required, but the Associate will be expected to have a background in management consulting and to be fluent in Excel. Most of all, this position requires resourcefulness, tenacity, patience, humility, and high ethical standards.
