     Program Summary:

     

    CHAI Zimbabwe will support a program to introduce and scale up the provision of access to three-month-long preventive therapy known as 3HP to people at risk of contracting TB including people living with HIV and children under five years old. The project seeks to establish 3HP as an affordable, quality-assured, less-toxic therapy suitable for usage in countries most affected by TB. CHAI Zimbabwe will also conduct additional work including: 1) expediting the uptake of the shorter MDR-TB regimen and bedaquiline; 2) supporting the scale up of NAT testing for TB; and 3) providing management and technical support to the MOHCC NTP to address key bottlenecks in implementation and spending for TB case finding, including testing best practice district-level service delivery models.

     

    Summary of Position:

     

    The Analyst will lead the provision of high quality analytical support to the TB team in assistance to the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) in the provision of quality TB diagnostic services and medicines.

     

    The Analyst will be a critical contributor to CHAI’s TB team. S/He will provide analytical, strategic, and communication support to implement internal and external projects. The Analyst will develop relationships with various teams within CHAI, as well as senior management. The position will require 50% travel and will be based in Zimbabwe.

    The Analyst will ensure timely execution of quality deliverables against aggressive deadlines. CHAI seeks an Analyst with exceptional process management skills and advanced quantitative ability. The Analyst will be expected to work closely with the TB Global team analytics team and the MoHCC TB M&E Officers.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop demand forecasts and market models under various scenarios that account for product characteristics and pricing, donor funding, country regimen choices, and demographic factors. Models will focus primarily on MDR drugs, rifapentine, and other new TB drugs.
    • Design data collection approaches and interface with MoHCC NTP teams. Create quantitative models. Analyze and draw conclusions from large volumes of data from both the demand and supply sides of the TB market in order to advance CHAI’s collaborations with suppliers, inform strategic decision-making and assess the impact of CHAI’s work.
    • Design models that can support programmatic decision making by MOHCC such as scenario analysis for regimen transition and optimal service delivery 
    • Manage the development and maintenance of market intelligence databases, quantitative models and forecasts related to prevention and treatment for TB
    • Track tender, regulatory and pricing data. Compile and analyze global and country level procurement and performance data for TB drugs and diagnostic commodities to create reference prices and appropriate yardsticks for country comparison
    • Build tools and models to support new drug adoption and scale-up and in-country forecasting and quantification exercises. Collect data as inputs for models.  Lead forecasting training and sessions.  Provide ad-hoc country procurement and forecasting support as needed
    • Prepare analysis and build tools to support introduction and scale up of new drugs, diagnostics and programmatic interventions, including costing, scale-up planning, impact analysis, and cost-effectiveness analysis
    • Present analytical findings to internal and external partners
    • Support ad-hoc projects with partners such as market sizing, procurement coordination, and global data sharing
    • Liaise with CHAI’s Research and Development team to track drug pipeline and clinical trials data
    • Participate in any other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ degree with minimum of 1 years relevant work experience in Finance, Management Consulting, Pharmaceutical or other industries requiring a high level of quantitative/analytical skills
    • Prior experience working with large data sets and Excel-based analytical modeling
    • Exceptional analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives
    • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure, multicultural environment
    • Able to work well in a diverse work environment, easily adaptable and respectful in cross cultural settings
    • Familiarity with global health issues
    • Ability to be effective in high-pressure situations, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and set priorities
    • Ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, especially clinical and scientific information
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Willingness to travel frequently and at short notice

    Advantages:
