    The HCV team works towards addressing barriers to access and fosters a healthy competitive marketplace for essential diagnostic testing and treatment for HCV. The team works closely with Ministry of Health, diagnostics manufacturers, and other multilateral organizations to increase access to testing and treatment, accelerate entry and uptake of new innovative products for HCV testing and treatment, and lower prices.

     

    The HCV team has been providing strategic and operational support to the government of Punjab’s public health program for Hepatitis-C since 2016.  It has supported the program in developing costed strategic and operational plans, monitoring and evaluation tools to monitor and measure program performance, and designed active screening strategies through identification of high-risk geographies and populations. The HCV team has also been working at the national level with National AIDS control organization (NACO) to develop their strategic and operational plans for management of Hepatitis-C among the HIV patient population.

    Responsibilities

    CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability, and communication skills to support CHAI India in its HCV program. The candidate must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence.     Specifically, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assist with the creation/optimization of operational systems to support national and state interventions planned for increasing access to HCV diagnostics, quality and affordable treatment and monitoring response to treatment
    • Support development and maintenance of high quality data management systems; design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to measure the impact of HCV testing and treatment
    • Support estimation of HCV prevalence and preparation of projections for demand for diagnostics and treatment
    • Support development of guidelines for HCV, algorithms for testing and treatment with inputs from experts
    • Support the development of training modules, job aids for training of lab technicians to conduct HCV testing and general clinicians for providing treatment to patients
    • Assist the team in building strong relationships with government representatives, suppliers and other key opinion leaders and partners
    • Support in drafting implementation plans and costing strategic plans, assisting with surveys, etc.
    • Provide assistance to the Manager for budgeting, forecasting, supply chain management, and overall health systems strengthening

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of work experience in a consulting, investment banking or a fast-paced results oriented organization
    • Strong problem solving & analytical skills
    • Experience in conceiving, planning and executing programs or projects with verifiable results and little external support
    • Experience in composing high-quality briefs, proposals, technical reports, guidelines, SOPs is highly desirable
    • High level of technical proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
    • Ability to think proactively and solve challenging problems without extensive structural or operational support
    • Able to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments, both internally and externally
    • Ability to travel at short notice and on a regular basis
    • Excellent business-oriented verbal, visual and written communication skills
    • English language fluency, both written and verbal
