Overview

Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton and Ira C. Magaziner, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. ("CHAI") is a global health organization committed to saving lives, reducing the burden of disease and strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world.

 

CHAI India is currently working under the guidance of the Central TB Division (CTD), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare towards setting up a project for private sector TB control in India. Engaging private sector effectively is crucial to achieving universal access to quality diagnosis and treatment for TB. The key objective of this project, named Joint Effort for Eliminating TB (JEET), is to set up effective and sustainable structures to strengthen existing systems and seamlessly extend quality TB care to patients seeking care in private sector. JEET plans to take a multi-pronged approach to engaging with private sector, as part of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) mantra to "go where the patients go" and will engage with the Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) network at national, state and district levels.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, for the role of Deputy Project Director. They must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence.  S/He will work under the guidance of the Country Director; and work closely with other key strategic partners, to provide strategic assistance, technical inputs, and coordinate design and operationalization of the JEET project plan.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Project Director will be expected to:

  • Lead the overall operationalization and implementation of the JEET grant as per the project framework
  • Manage the co-ordination with sub-recipients, implementing partners and other key stakeholders
  • Support the Project Director in coordination with CTD, JEET leadership and Global Fund (GF)
  • Ensure timely reporting of project progress to JEET leadership and GF
  • Support the Project Director and Finance Lead in financial planning and management for the project
  • Ensure proper selection of program partners/ implementing agencies; review and provide guidance to operational plans and progress reports for sub-recipients and partners
  • Ensure program monitoring tools and systems are in place to support high quality implementation and project tracking by partners
  • Lead the strategic planning for the JEET project with support from M&E and Analytics
  • Provide strategic guidance to the provider engagement activities with support from the Engagement team
  • Manage the activities of M&E/ Analytics, Engagement team, IT/ MIS, technical assistance and Operations teams

Qualifications

  • MBA, MPH or equivalent postgraduate strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 10-12 years of senior management experience in leading the strategy and execution of large scale implementation projects
  • Prior experience in managing large field teams in a sales/marketing function is preferable
  • Strong understanding of interfacing with government bodies /NGOs/ diverse stakeholders is preferable
