Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton and Ira C. Magaziner, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. ("CHAI") is a global health organization committed to saving lives, reducing the burden of disease and strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world.


CHAI's global malaria program provides direct technical and operational support to countries around the globe to strengthen their malaria programs and reduce the burden of this preventable, treatable disease. We support governments to scale up effective interventions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance, with the goals of sustainably reducing the number of malaria-related illnesses and deaths worldwide in the short-term and accelerating progress towards malaria elimination in the long term.


Overview of role:

CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as Program Coordinator to support a CHAI-led consortium of partners in increasing access to quality-assured treatment for children with severe malaria. This position will ensure smooth operations of the project in compliance with grant requirements and timelines, facilitate strong communication within CHAI and amongst consortium partners, and coordinate key project initiatives. In addition, this position will provide administrative support to the broader global malaria team. A successful candidate will be highly motivated and hard working with exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.   • Support CHAI-led consortium of partners with severe malaria project:   
    • Support the work planning process, including the development of templates, ensuring the completion of work plans by all partners, and monitoring the activities and timelines outlined within them
    • Develop a process and timeline for donor reporting on a semi-annual basis; manage the collection and aggregation of CHAI and partner inputs; and help ensure that final reports are clear, consistent and cohesive
    • Oversee knowledge management platform for the project, working in partnership with country teams to keep it comprehensive, up-to-date and user-friendly
    • Create and maintain a consortium calendar that tracks key deadlines and meetings
    • Manage team calls and supporting planning and execution of meetings
  • Provide administrative support to CHAI's malaria team:
    • Act as first point of contact on the team for administrative and operational questions
    • Liaise regularly with staff at headquarters on matters relevant to the team
    • Track hiring plans and the status of recruitment efforts and proactively flag delays
    • Develop and maintain onboarding materials, and coordinate and lead onboarding for new staff
    • Manage team calls, including preparing the agenda, taking notes, and tracking follow-up action items
    • Develop and maintain knowledge management platform for the team
    • Support planning and execution of meetings, including identification of venues and coordination of all travel logistics


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to think strategically and anticipate future consequences and trends
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and remote team
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, credibility, and dedication to CHAI's mission
  • Ability to be effective, calm, and flexible in high-pressure situations, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to effectively prioritize
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders from varied professional and cultural backgrounds
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience working in an international context and/or entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel 10-15%
