Founded in 2002, by President William J. Clinton and Ira C. Magaziner, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (“CHAI”) is a global health organization committed to saving lives, reducing the burden of disease and strengthening integrated health systems in the developing world.


The HIV team provides support to the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and works to address barriers to access and foster a healthy competitive marketplace for essential diagnostic testing. The team works closely with diagnostics manufacturers, governments, and multilateral organizations to lower prices, increase access to testing, and accelerate the entry and uptake of new innovative products for HIV testing. They also work with NACO to support rapid scale-up and effective management of high-quality treatments focusing primarily on drugs and diagnostics for HIV+ pregnant women and their babies. Additionally, they work towards improving access to drugs for pediatric patients and towards improving patient tracking and retention in care.


CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials, analytical ability, and communication skills to support CHAI India in its HIV program. The candidate must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence.   • Support NACO as required on drugs & diagnostics related access work streams (e.g., data-management, forecasting, new product introduction etc.)
  • Support NACO and the HIV team in drafting implementation plans and provide support related to costing strategic plans, assisting with surveys, etc.
  • Assist with the creation of operational systems to support various programs and interventions planned by NACO for:
    • Increasing access to conventional and POC diagnostics for CD4 & Viral Load testing
    • Streamlining and improving access to Early Infant Diagnosis
    • Increasing access of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) for pediatric patients
    • Mapping the HIV testing landscape in India (CD4 & Viral Load)
  • Build capacity on forecasting and quantification of peds ARV drugs and diagnostic commodities in order to avoid stock-outs, reduce waste and minimize costs
  • Development and implementation of CD4/EID/viral load/other related diagnostics plans including technology validation and selection, algorithms, guidelines, strategic & operational planning for sample and results transportation, costing etc.
  • Support NACO for development and maintenance of high quality data management systems; Design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems to measure the impact of HIV testing and treatment
  • Provide assistance to the Manager for forecasting, supply chain management, and overall health systems strengthening
  • Assist the team to build strong relationships with government representatives, suppliers and other key opinion leaders and partners
  • Provide operational support to the Manager to develop, plan, and implement multiple activities simultaneously
  • Develop work plans and budgetary projections for the program
  • Other responsibilities as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of work experience
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Experience in conceiving, planning and executing programs or projects with verifiable results and little external support
  • Experience in composing high-quality briefs, proposals, technical reports, guidelines, SOPs is desirable
  • Experience in developing work plans and budgets
  • High level of technical proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Ability to think proactively and solve challenging problems without extensive structural or operational support
  • Able to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments, both internally and externally
  • Ability to travel at short notice and on a regular basis
  • Excellent business-oriented verbal, visual and written communication skills
  • English language fluency, both written and verbal 


  • Experience in working for a management consulting firm or investment bank
  • Experience in HIV or TB would be an advantage
