About the Position:

 

The Senior Systems and Security Engineer is part of a cohesive, high-performing IT team supporting 1800 users in over 30 countries. Our goal is to ensure that our systems are reliable, secure, and robust to support CHAI staff, volunteers, and partners fulfill their mission of expanding access and care to health care services in underserved areas.

 

Located at the CIPL office in New Delhi, India, the Senior Systems Administrator will play a key role in the IT team, managing servers and systems in support of global operations. The person in this position is focused on Microsoft Windows-based technologies, with a heavy emphasis on Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange. In addition, the Senior Systems Administrator will play a critical role in the selection, implementation and maintenance of a planned ERP system. This position requires a self-starter who is knowledgeable, meticulous, and resourceful to be successfully and effectively in a fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment. Must be excited by the challenge of tackling projects in new areas, quickly building knowledge and skills and effectively applying them.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT resource in the selection and implementation of a financial ERP system.
  • Maintain Microsoft Windows servers in the corporate data center in virtual and physical environment
  • Maintain Exchange 2019, Office365 and AD user accounts.
  • Proactively manage and maintain remote servers in field offices.
  • Configure, manage and support Server 2012 and 2019 servers.
  • Provide training and assistance to users as needed.
  • Interface with vendors to place orders for new equipment and software.
  • Design and install systems on a limited budget.
  • Create and maintain updated documentation for all technical aspects of operations.
  • Must be excited about learning new things, patient in dealing with complex and sometimes high-pressure situations, and must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Provide tier 2 support to the helpdesk engineers.
  • Collaborate well in a small team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in systems administration and security engineering
  • Proven experience in managing Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and 2019), Active Directory (AD), and Microsoft Exchange 2019 in both virtual and physical environments
  • Expertise in Office365 administration, including user account management, security configurations, and compliance settings
  • Strong background in network security and server hardening practices, with a focus on firewall management, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption protocols.
  • Hands-on experience in the selection, implementation, and management of ERP systems, preferably in a global or multi-location environment
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar tools for managing and securing IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with IT security standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS controls) and compliance requirements
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for documentation and reporting
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, especially in identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and support end-users effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a small, high-performing team
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) are preferred
  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to managing system security and reliability
  • Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving IT security challenges
  • Ability to create and maintain technical process documentation accurately and efficiently
