Overview

The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. 

 

CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. We are investing in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing. With each new and innovative program, our strategy is grounded in maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, that programs are designed to scale nationally, and learnings are shared globally.

In India, CHAI works in partnership with its India registered affiliate William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF) under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the Central and States' levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, WJCF supports government partners across projects to expand access to quality care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, tuberculosis, COVID-19, common cancers, sexual and reproductive health, immunization, and essential medicines.

Position Summary:

WJCF is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to lead our technological initiatives and drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will assess and optimize our current IT systems and assets, recommend and implement innovative solutions and upgrades, provide comprehensive training to staff on new technologies, and manage our network infrastructure. This role requires extensive knowledge of network maintenance, proven managerial experience, and a forward-thinking approach to IT strategy. The IT Manager will have a significant impact on both our daily operations and long-term growth, working closely with our program teams to ensure WJCF leverages cutting-edge technologies to enhance our business processes and achieve our organizational goals. The successful candidate will lead IT projects and teams effectively while staying abreast of industry trends to keep WJCF at the forefront of technological advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks
  • Develop and implement policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure
  • Analyze resource utilization and develop strategies to optimize performance
  • Establish, measure, and define IT goals and maintain an IT roadmap
  • Direct the activities of the help desk to ensure the IT needs of users are met
  • Manage development projects to integrate new technologies into existing systems
  • Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components
  • Establish a security policy to protect company information and resources
  • Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed
  • Manage strong relationships with IT partners and Vendors

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in IT management
  • Knowledge and understanding of operating systems (ex: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Win 11, etc.), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in IT, computer science, or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of overall experience in IT
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems
  • Experience with network administration (Cisco certification a plus) 
  • Experience managing on-premises servers, O365, cloud computing like Azure, AWS, BOX, SSO, etc.
