Overview of Role
CHAI is seeking a Senior Associate to support a market dynamics ecosystem gap analysis. The term “market dynamics” (“MD”) refers to the interrelation of market structure (actors and products), actions (such as financing or sharing information) and market outcomes (price, supply, quality, sustainability). Since these factors interrelate dynamically, it is possible for a given entity to take deliberate strategic actions to improve market outcomes for its own benefit (or, in the case of a funder, for that of its recipients) or for the benefit of the entire market. The Senior Associate will support the development of a framework for analyzing and categorizing the MD ecosystem of partners, donors and participants through desktop research, stakeholder interviews and investment analysis of donors, suppliers and buyers. The work will require cross-CHAI support as well as extensive engagement with external MD partners and funders.
The role is a great opportunity for a candidate with an analytical mind to learn about the MD eco-system and identify opportunities to improve it. Capable candidates will be able to build networks with a large number of potential partners and establish themselves as thought leaders in this critical public health space.
Team is flexible to other base locations pending country leadership approval. This is a 8 month position. This role will require up to 25% travel within the United States, Europe, and Africa.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding analytical, strategic, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will adhere to the core CHAI values of resourcefulness, entrepreneurialism, flexibility, independence, humility, and work ethic. The Senior Associate will report to the project’s Senior Advisor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
