The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries, while strengthening the capabilities of governments and the private sector in those countries to create and sustain high-quality health systems that can succeed without our assistance. For more information, please visit: http://www.clintonhealthaccess.org
CHAI’s global malaria program provides direct technical and operational support to countries around the globe to strengthen their malaria programs and reduce the burden of this preventable and treatable disease. CHAI supports governments to scale up effective interventions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance, with the goals of sustainably reducing the number of malaria-related illnesses and deaths worldwide in the short term and accelerating progress towards malaria elimination in the long term.
In Zimbabwe, CHAI provides direct technical and operational support to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) to reduce the burden of malaria in high-burden districts while implementing a progressive sub-national malaria elimination program in 28 low-burden districts in the southern and central regions of the country. CHAI supports the NMCP on the scale-up of effective interventions for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance, in line with the National Malaria Control and Elimination Strategic Plan (2021-2025).
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Zimbabwe seeks a highly motivated individual to work as a Malaria Associate reporting to the Malaria Program Manager. The Associate will support the Program Manager in shaping CHAI’s overall malaria strategy for the country, participate in the development of clear operational plans for execution, and continuously identify opportunities for CHAI to add value and maximize the impact of the Ministry of Health’s malaria program. The Associate will work alongside the CHAI malaria team members on CHAI's national-level engagements and provide tiered technical support to all provinces where CHAI will be operating in.
CHAI places great value on relevant personal qualities, including resourcefulness, tenacity, independence, patience, humility, and a strong work ethic. Therefore, the Associate should be an individual with good problem-solving skills to sustainably address complex challenges. They must have excellent relationship-building and communication skills and the ability to function independently with minimal oversight.
